Main road night closures start tonight

Motorists need to be aware that there will be several night closures on a busy main road in and out of Welshpool over the next fortnight, starting tonight (Tuesday).

The A458 at Buttington Cross Level Crossing will be closed from 10.15pm tonight through to 6.25am, with a diversion in place to allow Network Rail to carry out signal and telecoms testing on the line.

The road will then be closed for the same times for four nights from Sunday, October 13 until Thursday, October 17 to allow access for vegetation/flailing work (maintenance) as part of preparations for autumn to allow “the safe and reliable running” of the railway.
