Is another town centre drugs raid in progress?

Readers are reporting that there appears to be another major police operation ongoing in Welshpool town centre this afternoon

Police cars screeched into the centre of town a short while back, and appear to be focussing their efforts down one of the alleyways just off the main street.

One eye-witness told us they were in pursuit of a male and Dyfed-Powys Police said they will update us later, but it comes just 24 hours after another raid on the former Savers shop uncovered a “large scale” cannabis farm. One arrest was made. Ironically the shop used to be called Super Drug.

Earlier this year, huge drug growing operations were discovered at the former HSBC building and ex-County Times offices.

But the finds have failed to put off the drugs gangs who eye Welshpool as a major growing and distribution centre.
