Search for missing person in river near Welshpool
Emergency services have been seen at the bridge area of the road, with the force stating on their Facebook account this evening: “Officers are currently involved in a multi-agency search at the River Severn in Welshpool.
“A search is underway for a missing person, reported at just before 4.40pm.
“Dyfed-Powys Police, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, HM Coastguard and specialist search and rescue teams are at the scene.
“Members of the public are advised to stay away from the area to allow the emergency services to carry out the search."
Readers have reported seeing the Air Ambulance in attendance, as well as specialist fire fighter teams trained in water-based operations.
