Three drug arrests following Llanymynech armed police chase

Numerous police vehicles, including a helicopter, and armed officers descended on Llanymynech last Thursday following reports of a vehicle failing to stop.

Readers informed us that armed and plain clothes officers were active in the village at around 8pm, and this afternoon Dyfed-Powys Police has released the following details:

“Dyfed-Powys Police officers were deployed after a vehicle failed to stop in the Llanymynech area at around 8pm on Thursday, July 4.

“Roads Policing officers, a dog handler and armed response officers were involved, with NPAS also assisting.

“One man, aged 31, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs, possession of class A drugs, dangerous driving and failing to stop. He has been released on conditional bail.

“One man, aged 19, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and being concerned in the supply of class A drugs. He has been released under investigation whilst enquiries are ongoing.

“One woman, aged 19, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. She has been released under investigation whilst enquiries are ongoing.”
