Dramatic rescue brings town centre to a standstill

There were dramatic scenes today in Welshpool town centre which was brought to a standstill by a big emergency response.

Fire, Police and Ambulance services were all in attendance this afternoon, after readers told us that a woman had broken her leg in a flat above Alexanders.

The police told us to speak to the Wales Ambulance Service for clarification, but our request for information was left unanswered this afternoon. So, we have no update on the victim’s condition.

The road was reportedly closed for around two hours.
