The Young Farmers have been busy since the turn of the new year, and here’s a look at what they have been up to.

Wales Agri Conference 2024

The Wales YFC Agri Conference was held on Montgomeryshire YFC’s home turf at Gregynog Hall.

The event included informative talks from a variety of speakers including Arwel Owen from Genus ABS, Leah Merion, James Nixon from Penmincae Welsh Black Beef & Lamb and Rachael Madelely Davies from Hybu Cig Cymru.

Many Montgomeryshire YFC members attended, with Chairman, Alun Tudor Thomas, compèring the Agri Awards Dinner.

A huge congratulations to Morgan Tudor of Dyfryn Banw YFC, for winning the Grassland Management award 2024, a fantastic achievement!

Public speaking

Montgomeryshire YFC held their annual public speaking event at Ysgol Calon y Dderwen.

It was a hugely successful day, with many members taking part in the variety of competitions, including junior reading, public speaking, brainstrust, situations vacant and debating.

A huge congratulations to Sarn YFC on winning the English public speaking and to Bro Ddyfi YFC for winning the Welsh public speaking.

A big thank-you to the sponsors for the day - Harrisons Solicitors LLP and Menter Iaith Maldwyn, and to the members, stewards, club leaders and parents who made the event possible.
