The team behind the community drive to build a new playpark in Montgomery has launched a new appeal to transfer an updated version of a popular feature to the new facility.
Extensive fundraising, like the popular scarecrow trail, has ensured that work is underway for the new playpark, and there is a groundswell of support for the famous ‘Dragon Tyres’ to feature.
“The feature is a staple part of the original Montgomery Play Park at Tan Y Mur, and have been clambered, jumped and played on for over 40 years,” said a spokesperson for Friends of Montgomery Play Park.
“The tyres are not in a state to be simply transferred but, through kind donations, there are new ones ready to go in the ground. The funds are needed to install these.
“Thank you to everyone who has donated so far and if we raise £250 of our target by November 30, we’ll unlock a further £50 bonus for free from Local Giving.”
The build of the current playpark phase is continuing, and news about an official launch is expected soon.
