A Welshpool group is calling for new members as it continues to recover from the long Covid lay-off with a new season starting tomorrow night (Wednesday).
Arrive and Jive classes have a theme of “having a good laugh, a good dance and a good social evening” and resume at the COWSHACC from 7.45pm.
It is a beginner’s class so it is easy to join any Wednesday through to the end of April, when there is a break for the summer.
Numbers have been low post-Covid so organisers are hoping to welcome more people to come down to their 11th year and enjoy an evening of fun.
“Whilst we are a beginner’s group we also have experienced jivers who attend who have been coming for many years,” said a spokesperson. “This helps by giving the group a good balance but also those who are starting out learning to jive.”
The first lesson costs £6, but the second lesson is free to newcomers.
Following on from the group’s performance in the Stand Up To Cancer show last year at The Hafren in Newtown, a new class has been formed there, starting tonight (Tuesday) at 7.15pm. The cost is £5 per session with the second class also being free to newcomers.
