Welshpool to become dementia-friendly

Welshpool is to launch a number of initiatives in its bid to become a dementia-friendly town.

A steering group supported by the Town Council has been formed with a Facebook page called ‘Dementia Friends Welshpool’ already created and an informative web site under construction.

There will also be a number of awareness events held with a coffee morning planned in the Corn Exchange during dementia awareness week.

Hour-long information events will also be held in the Corn Exchange offering resident the chance to become ‘dementia friends’. These are: April (2.30pm), May 10 (10am and 7pm)  and May 17 (2.30pm). All are welcome to drop in.
