Investigation at RBL branch

An investigation is being carried out into fundraising issues at the Welshpool branch of the Royal British Legion.

A statement from Royal British Legion headquarters this week confirmed that the investigation is underway.

A spokesman said: “I can confirm that we are holding an internal investigation into a fundraising issue at the Welshpool Branch. No further comment will be made at this time.”

A new president, chairman, secretary, treasurer and poppy collector were appointed at the Welshpool branch recent annual meeting when it was also announced that last year’s poppy collection broke all previous records.
