Job Title: Welder / Fabricator

Department: Production/Factory

Responsible to: Production Manager

Duties and Responsibilities

• To fabricate and assemble metal products, develop layouts and plans sequence of operation
• To be competent reading engineering drawings
• To set up and operate fabricating machines
• Cutting, shaping and bending Carbon/Stainless Steel
• Ensure that the company’s health and safety measures are adhered to
• Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained within the work area
• Minimise the wastage of materials and consumables
• Must be qualified and experienced in MIG welding techniques
• Work under own initiative to deliver the products on time first time
• To be familiar with welding symbols
• To be able to weld carbon steel, alloy steel and stainless steel
• Need to be able to pass 9606 welder approval

Skills/Qualifications

• Proven background in Fabrication, preferably with a qualification or a recognised apprenticeship.
• Have a knowledge and relevant experience of working in the engineering and manufacturing sector (essential).
• Suitable candidate will be enthusiastic and willing to take on additional roles in the company.
• Be flexible and work overtime if needed.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision towards achieving strict deadlines

The role will be 37 hours per week with overtime as an option. Mon – Thurs 06:00 - 14:30pm, Fri – 06:00 - 11:00

Personal Protective Equipment will be provided, such as Steel-toe capped boots, ear defenders, safety glasses and gloves.
