One of Welshpool’s oldest pubs is set to reopen its doors this weekend.
The owner of The Talbot has told us that she will be handing over the keys on Wednesday ready for the pub to be back up and running at the weekend.
Michelle Youens closed the doors suddenly this summer, two years after she bought the 16th Century pub and turned it back into a vibrant night spot for the town.
And this morning she has shared the good news that it is set to be back up and running with experienced hospitality operator, Steve Hewitt, from Warrington, taking the reins.
“Steve is looking forward to welcoming everyone back and getting the pub rocking again with live music at the weekends and inviting pool and darts teams who are looking for a venue, to get in touch,” said Ms Youens, who said that live music is already planned for this Saturday night.
The Talbot has played an important part in the rejuvenation of Welshpool’s night life, with several pubs undergoing renovations and the town waiting with bated breath for the long-awaited reopening of The Pinewood.
