Wildlife Trust to leave Welshpool for new home
The charity has been based in Welshpool for “many wonderful years”, but our town’s loss will be Gregynog Hall’s gain with the breath-taking location set to provide them with a warm welcome.
It means the Trust’s shop at its offices in Park Lane House will also close, and jobs will head out of the town for the new location.
Announcing the move, Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust stated: “After many wonderful years in Welshpool, in mid-August MWT’S head office is moving to the historic hall and estate Gregynog near Newtown.
“A fantastic opportunity arose to take office space at the National Nature Reserve (NNR) in Tregynon, which has 750 acres of wildlife-rich grounds, ancient woodland and rare waxcap fungi.
“MWT and Gregynog started working together in 2024 on the successful Welcome Home to Nature project, and hope for more opportunities to collaborate.
“Our head office address might be different, but you’ll still be dealing with the same brilliant team using our existing telephone number and email addresses.
“Our Welshpool shop’s final day of trading will be Wednesday, August 5. We won’t have a permanent shop at Gregynog, but we hope to run pop-up stalls in the future.”
Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust has worked for over 40 years protecting wildlife and wild places, educating, influencing and empowering people.
They directly manage 18 of the best sites for wildlife in Montgomeryshire and work with other landowners on many more. Their work is helping to secure the future of many important habitats and species, which might otherwise be lost.
