A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesperson has confirmed that there were multi-agency raids in Welshpool and Newtown yesterday.
Readers told us that there was a substantial police presence around Lux Nails on Broad Street yesterday, a business that opened earlier this year after transforming the former Barclays Bank premises. It is open for business today.
A police spokesperson did not name which businesses has been visited in both towns, but they did confirm: “Multi-agency activity which involved Dyfed-Powys Police officers took place in Welshpool and Newtown on Monday, June 15, from around 7.50am onwards.
“The activity formed part of ongoing work with partner agencies, and enquiries are ongoing. At this time, we are unable to provide further details, but additional information will be released when appropriate.”
