Volunteers have shown tremendous community spirit by supporting the Friends of Severn Pond in returning the popular nature reserves back to its full glory following a spate of vandalism last year.
The reserve was closed last August after damage across the reserves was found, leaving Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust with no option but to take action for health and safety reasons.
But over the weekend, the reserve was reopened to the public.
“Thanks to the hard work and commitment of our volunteers and Friends of Severn Farm Pond, we’re delighted to announce Severn Farm Pond is once again open to the public,” the wildlife organisation announced.
“As supporters will know, we had to temporarily close the nature reserve last August after extensive vandalism left it unsafe for visitors.
“But Reserves Officer Rob, with the invaluable help of our volunteers and Friends of Severn Farm Pond group, have worked tirelessly to repair the damage and make Severn Farm Pond fit for visitors once more.
“Diolch yn fawr iawn / huge thanks to all our volunteers and supporters – we couldn’t do what we do without you!”
