The extraordinary story of Adele Nicoll’s journey from the Welshpool playing fields of Maesydre to the Winter Olympic Games is creating a frenzy for tickets for a night with the star herself next month.
Adele grabbed the attention of the whole area with a courageous debut at the Milan Cortina Winter Olympic Games in February, producing some breath-taking performances in the Monobob and the 2-woman bobsleigh.
And she will be having a homecoming event on Friday, May 8, at the Town Hall when she will share her incredible journey for the first time since those gripping runs.
“There has been a lot of interest in the event since we announced it, so my advice is to buy tickets as soon as possible because it is proving very popular,” said Alan Lewis, from organisers Adrenalin Sporting Events.

The evening will consist of a Q&A with MyWelshpool co-founder David Williams followed by questions from the audience and then the opportunity to have photographs with the star herself.
After a short rest post-Olympics, Adele has thrown herself into training for Commonwealth Games qualification in the shot putt and has been enjoying a lengthy training camp across the Atlantic in the USA.
She has already achieved the B-qualification distance, and is shaping up well to make the Team Wales team for the multi-sport event being held this summer in Glasgow.
