Free parking for Welshpool 10k runners

21/03/2025 @ 08:59

Hundreds of runners will be taking part in the annual Welshpool 10k tomorrow (Sunday) which will see the town centre roads closed from 5am.

The event has become a major fixture on the Welshpool social and sporting calendar, and tomorrow’s edition will again challenge runners to complete a route that starts and finishes in front of the Town Hall.

The route runs through the spectacular gardens of Powis Castle and will get underway at 9am, with runners able to park for free at the Church Street Car Park after organisers, Adrenaline Sporting Events, covered the cost with Powys County Council.

“We are looking forward to another excellent event and expect to welcome runners to Welshpool from across the UK,” said Alan Lewis, from Adrenaline Sporting Events.

There are still a handful of last minute places available through www.adrenalinesportingevents.co.uk

Broad Street and High Street will be closed from 5am-1pm, with people asked not to leave their cars overnight tonight.

The race will be held on Sunday, March 23, with runners setting off from the start line at 9am after a short warm up at 8.40am. Berriew is also closed from 8.50am until 9.25am, as well as Red Lane between 8.30am and 10.30am.
