Another bumper month for MyWelshpool

05/02/2025 @ 10:25

The January MyWelshpool numbers are in and we can confirm our busiest ever start to a new year in terms of numbers of pages read.

As one of Britain’s longest serving hyperlocal news sites, MyWelshpool will be celebrating 15 years of delivering news and information from the local area later this year.

And the latest data from Google shows that we continue to go from strength-to-strength with January showing that an incredible 157,872 pages of news were read by 34,657 visitors to the site.

MyNewtown also continues to show strong readership numbers down the road.

And impressively, Google Analytics tell us that each visit lasts an average of one minute, 39 seconds, proof that our readers like to spend quality time with us online.

The big stories of January were the drugs busts in the centre of town, McDonald’s refusing to serve our exhausted firefighters in the middle of the night, and the tragic fire at Severn Farm Industrial Estate.

“I can’t remember us ever having such an incredible start to a year in terms of reader numbers,” said MyTown Media Ltd co-founder, David Williams.

“These numbers reassure us that we are doing it right. The pressure on the local media industry is immense, but we have continued to provide a first-class service to thousands of local readers, which has never been more important than these current challenging times.”

The month also saw us post our first MyWelshpoolTV report of the year, with almost 9,000 people watching the newly named ‘Potters Bridge’ officially reopen.

None of this, of course, would be possible without the brilliant support from the local companies who continue to provide incredible support to ensure you receive your news free-of-charge.

If your company wants to benefit from being exposed to the local community, and supporting the delivery of local news at the same time, please get in touch with us at ads@mytownmedia.co.uk.
