In echoes of the epic Welshpool gig played by Beautiful South frontman, Paul Heaton, in 2012, another iconic frontman has announced a local concert for 2025.
James Walsh is the lead singer of Starsailor, who continue to be festival favourites with big hits including Poor Misguided Fool, Silence is Easy, Good Souls and In the Crossfire.
But in between tours with his band, the 44-year-old releases critically acclaimed solo music and Llanfair Caereinion has made the incredible coup of booking him for a gig at The Institute on March 29.
Organisers have used insider connections and pulled some strings to bring the talented singer to Llanfair Caereinion, so they are hoping that a sell-out crowd will make it all worthwhile.
Tickets are priced just £20 and available through https://wegottickets.com/event/642885. The support act is Tammy Wilde.
Twelve years ago, Mr Heaton played Welshpool as part of a cycling tour of the UK to promote small live music venues. His epic 90-minute gig at The Royal Oak with his full band has gone down in local folklore. He is currently playing a sold-out Christmas tour of UK arenas to tens of thousands of fans.
