Police have confirmed that an arrest was made last night after a car smashed into a lamp post and a BT pole.
Brook Street was closed after 9pm following the incident which involved a blue Volkswagon Golf, to enable engineers to replace the telecoms pole.
This afternoon, Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed: “A 33-year old man was arrested and later charged with driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level above the limit, driver of a vehicle fail to stop after a road accident and cause a vehicle to be left in a dangerous position.
“He has been bailed to appear at Welshpool Magistrates court on November 19.”
