For the third year in a row, the Buttington BioBlitz will offer a chance for nature lovers of all ages to engage with the natural world around them and support the wildlife that call it home.
The congregation at All Saints Church Buttington is inviting anyone with a love of wildlife to help them capture as many records as possible for the birds, bugs and blooms living in the churchyard and the nearby cemetery.
“We want to play our part to halt biodiversity loss and create spaces for wildlife” said Eley Hart, church treasurer and event organiser. “It’s vital that we know if our efforts are working and being able to compare wildlife records year-on-year is a good way to do that.”
The event is being held this Sunday (June 14) between noon and 4pm and local experts will be on hand to help with identification.
Children can get involved with badge making, microscopes and a nature trail.
