Quiz to boost Beth’s marathon effort for Alder Hey

A Welshpool woman is undertaking a marathon fundraising effort for a charity that she said she would “give every inch of myself for”.

Beth Marshall will be running the Manchester Marathon 2026 in aid of Alder Hey Children’s Charity, but is hosting a quiz this Sunday at the Owl & Pussycat to boost her fundraising efforts.

“Alder Hey Children’s Charity is a cause incredibly close to my heart,” said Beth. “It’s the one charity I know I would give every inch of myself for. I’ve already begun my training to make sure I’m fully prepared and ready to give my all on the big day.

“Sadly, so many families - including my own - have needed the incredible care Alder Hey provides. I can honestly say that every single doctor, nurse, healthcare professional, and volunteer there deserves the world for what they do.”

Beth said that her fundraising efforts are a way of giving back and “my chance to show how much I appreciate everything Alder Hey has done for my two children, and for me as a parent”.

Sunday’s quiz starts at 7pm with teams consisting of 2-6 people welcome. It will be £3 per player.

Prizes include a £50 cash winning prize along with raffle ticket prizes that include vouchers for local businesses.
