The talented Guilsfield Amateur Dramatic Society put on a show to remember whilst representing Wales across the Atlantic at the Liverpool International Theatre Festival (LITF) held in Nova Scotia, Canada.

The ‘mice’ were led by Directors Sue and David Jones to perform the evocative, sometimes whimsical and thought-provoking play, Can you hear the music? By David Campton.

It was well received by the knowledgeable local audience and highly regarded adjudicator, Jennifer Scott-Reid from the UK, was complimentary of both the presentation and the performance.

LITF is a biennial event regarded by many as one of the leading International festivals of amateur theatre.

It has been running since 1992 and this year there were 11 plays from 10 different countries from across Europe, North Africa, Middle East and North and Central America.

“We are now looking forward to using much of the new creative ideas we have learned to enhance all of our productions in Guilsfield,” said Mr Jones.

As well as Sue and David, the group was made up of actors Paul Preece, Gareth Davies, Tonia Davies, Tesni Jones, Debra Towse (who was also responsible for costume), Paula Ballard, plus John Parkinson as the ‘Piper’ and Malcolm Graham on Tec.

In addition, the performances could not have happened without input back home from Neil Saunders (Light & Sound Design) and Stage Design by Sheila Morgan assisted by Mike Evans and Steve and Shirley Adams.
