Outgoing captain’s huge donation

The outgoing captain at Lakeside Golf Club has thanked the hospital that helped his granddaughter in her time of need with a huge donation on behalf of the club.

Graham Meredith named Birmingham Children's Hospital as his charity to benefit from his year in office after they performed open heart surgery on his granddaughter, Ava Meredith, when she was just seven months old.

He was well supported throughout the year by club members and last week he was able to hand over a cheque for £8,356 to Ashleigh Adams from the hospital, watched by Ava.
