Nearly one-in-five GCSE students received five or more A*-A grades at Welshpool High School after the results were released today.

Headteacher Jon Arnold was understandably happy after sharing the school’s results, which included 25 students achieving at least one A* grade and students achieving A* grades in over 90% of the subjects taken.

One student, Ryan Edwards, achieved nine A* grades, while three students achieved six A* grades, one achieved five A* grades and five students achieved four A* grades.

“The determination and hard work that they have shown to achieve such fabulous grades is a credit to them, the support of their families and the efforts of the dedicated staff who have worked alongside them in school,” said Mr Arnold.

“There are so many fabulous success stories throughout the school, with students across the board exceeding their targets. We are so very proud of all of our students. Congratulations to all.”
