Welshpool’s Invertek Drives has reported annual sales of £72.8 million driven by its dynamic town workforce of over 420 people, and it is on the lookout for more staff.
The company is a global innovator and manufacturer of variable frequency drives (VFDs) that control electric motors.
They design and produce cutting-edge drive technology that optimises motor control, improves energy efficiency, and reduces operating costs across a wide range of applications and industries globally.
The 2025 sales revenue represents a 20% growth over the previous year and sales of more than 300,000 drives worldwide.
Their export sales remained exceptionally strong, representing 93% of total revenue, underlining the truly international nature of their business and the confidence placed in Invertek by customers and partners across global markets.
In recognition of its outstanding international growth and the strength of its international business development, Invertek Drives has been honoured with the UK’s most prestigious business award, The King’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade in 2025.
The company has reinforced its commitment to long-term growth with a major expansion of its UK production, warehouse, and distribution facility, completed in 2024, and its planned expansion of the Innovation Centre.
This ongoing investment is increasing the capacity to meet growing international demand for its Optidrive range of VFDs. As part of this continued growth, Invertek introduced its next-generation Optidrive E4 variable frequency drive platform. This launch represented an important step forward for the company and a major advancement of their core product range.
As a result of a significant global increase in orders, partially driven by energy management and Data Centres, Invertek Drives is currently recruiting Production Operators to meet this demand.
The company said employees are at the centre of the company’s success. Through investment in employee’s professional development and by fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning, Invertek demonstrates its commitment to employees.
By investing in its team, the company builds on its expertise and strengthens the business by retaining employees and providing opportunities for progression within the organisation.
