Charity shop ‘returns home’ for pop-up this weekend

26/05/2026 @ 10:21

Hope House Tŷ Gobaith children’s hospices are bringing their Pop-Up Shop concept to Welshpool town centre.

And what’s more, they’re bringing it back to where it all began in the area – their former home of 27 Broad Street.

From Thursday, May 28 to close of business Sunday, May 31, they will be hosting an extravaganza of £1 bargains.

Pre-loved fashion, homewares, books and toys will all be available for just a pound.

Retail Area Manager for the charity, Mark Hunt-Gittins, said: “Following the success of our Oswestry pop-up, we’re delighted to bring one to Welshpool.

“It’ll be great to be back in the old store for a short stint after our move out to the retail park.

“The support we receive in the Welshpool area is second to none.

“There is a good understanding that at the heart of everything we do lies the care of children living with a life-threatening condition.

“We are looking forward to greeting familiar faces and new.”

Over the weekend, the pop-up store will not be able to accept donations – but the permanent store on the retail park will be open for business and donations as usual.

There are currently a range of volunteering opportunities across Hope House Tŷ Gobaith stores in Cheshire, Wales and Shropshire.

You can find out more about volunteering by asking at the Welshpool shop, in the Pop-Up shop or by clicking here.
