The October numbers are in, and we are proud to say it has been another incredible month of strong readership figures for MyWelshpool.
We are proud to serve our local community, and readership numbers of the like we have seen this morning from Google Analytics make it all worthwhile, and we can’t thank you enough for your support.
Across the country, local news is under pressure. Facebook is squeezing the content it allows to be shared from people like us, and the big news organisations are continuing to build pay walls and saturate their local sites with intrusive advertising, not to mention click bait national ‘news’.
But we have kept our winning formula since day one 14 years ago, and it seems to work!
During October, an eye-popping 139,725 pages of news were read by 36,174 unique users. Remarkable when you consider just 6,500 people actually live in the town proving that we are a big hit with all of the surrounding communities as well.
We have been accessed from 92 countries as well over the past month, showing that expats continue to log on, not to mention all of us when we are on our travels!
We couldn’t provide this free community service without the loyal support of our advertisers who we are hugely indebted to. Thank-you so much for supporting local news, and allowing us to share your brilliant services with thousands of local people.
We’ll continue to work hard for the Welshpool area and we never take your support for granted.
Big things are planned for 2025, so watch this space!
