Magnifico! The best in Wales

We have always known that our local taste of Italy was special, but now it’s official!

Fabrizio’s Italian Kitchen , which relocated from Welshpool town centre to its plush restaurant at Trewern’s former Little Chef site a couple of years back, was last night named as the best Italian Restaurant in Wales at the 7^th British Italian Awards which “strive to recognise excellence, and pick out the very best”.

The restaurant reached the shortlist thanks to the votes of customers, and was then visited by a panel of independent judges who ranked the 12 finalists, with Fabrizio’s coming out on top.

At a plush Awards Ceremony last night held in the Queen’s Hotel, Leeds, the restaurant, which first opened in 2016, proved a popular winner.

“This means a lot,” said Fabrizio Angeli (pictured) on receiving the award. “We started with a very small restaurant and then we moved to bigger premises and we have done very well. Thank-you so much for voting for us. We didn’t expect this but it is very much appreciated.”
