Llanfair hoping for a win

20/04/2017 @ 03:35

Llanfair can only hope to secure 13th place when they meet Guilsfield in the final game of the Huws Gray Alliance programme.

It’s then a case of wait and see if they are relegated to the Spar Mid Wales League as the Welsh pyramid system promotion and relegation sagas sort themselves out.

In an amazing end of season in the Spar Mid Wales League second division, Kerry were promoted as champions without having kicked a ball today.
Kerry themselves had failed to win their last two matches against Borth and Churchstoke and it looked as if they would have to wait to get over the final hurdle.
Borth, who were favourites to join Kerry in Division 1 next season needing only a draw to do so but failed at the last hurdle themselves 1-0 to Dyffryn Banw whilst third placed Churchstoke pipped them for runners-up spot on goal difference by beating Four Crosses 3-0 at home.
At present, Churchstoke have not got the necessary Division 1 criteria but have until the month end to rectify this problem.

Welshpool continue to fight for points to stay up and take on Aberaeron as the curtain comes down at Maesydre on Saturday.
