Improvement works have been carried out to a road junction after a local community raised concerns with the county council.

Powys County Council had received concerns about the visibility from the junction of the B4385/U2413 at Cwmgolau.

Highway works had been carried out at the junction to assist the movement of abnormal loads carrying components to the new wind farm near Cefn Coch.

But the local community council, residents and the local county councillor raised concerns about the impact of the works had on the visibility of the junction.

The council investigated the concerns and arranged for further improvements works to the junction, which were carried out by Jones Bros, on behalf of the wind farm developer Belltown Power Limited.

Cllr Liam Fitzpatrick, Cabinet Member for Highways, said: “Ensuring that our roads are safe is hugely important and the junction alterations that have taken place are a significant improvement.

“I’m delighted we have acted upon the concerns that the local community had. I’m grateful that Belltown Power Limited have worked with us and responded quickly to address these concerns.”
