Lodge out to dispel some myths

26/04/2017 @ 07:02

It’s a global organisation shrouded in myths, but the local masonic lodge is on a mission to change its perception.

The Welchpool Lodge 998 (correct spelling) is highlighting the important work it has done in the community as it looks to expand its membership to mark the 300th Anniversary of Masonry worldwide.

A new five-part television series is currently being aired at 8pm on Monday evenings on Sky One and the local branch is urging residents to tune in to find out more.

“Masonic institutions, both global and local, are keen to dispel preconceived myths regarding the organization,” said local secretary Peter Coleby.

“The SKY One program is a very good watch and on a local basis we are keen to broadcast our charitable and honorable activities.”

The local lodge has supported many national and local charities and it recently donated to the Montgomeryshire Emergency Doctors, Open Door, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and the local Guides.
