Maesydre prepares for big farewell

An appeal has gone out to find old photos and memorabilia ahead of the final weeks of Ysgol Maesydre.

The school will be closing for good on August 31 and its current headmaster, Mr Russell Cadwallader, wants it to have the send-off it deserves.

“We are appealing for old photos and memorabelia in regards to Ysgol Maesydre,” he said. “Any items collected will form part of a display for an open evening for all ex-pupils and staff on Thursday, July 20.

“All items donated will be scanned and returned to their owners promptly.”

Maesydre is closing under plans for the town to build two new super schools, one for the English stream and one for Welsh.
