As registration enters it final days, organisers of the Powis Trail 10k on Sunday (May 14) have announced a couple of runs for the youngsters.

The last day to get your name entered online is Thursday, but already 311 people have signed up, a huge jump on last year’s restricted number for the first event.

“We are really pleased with the response and hope that a few more people will sign up this week before we close entry,” said Sharon Davies, who is one of the lead organisers from the Dolly Mixtures Running Group.

New for this year is the junior race for 11-16 year olds which is £5 to enter on the day and includes a goody bag and medal. The route is approximately 2.5 miles with a 10am start.

A children's fun run for any age then follows five minutes later with a £2 entry that includes Mollie's sweets for all finishers.

The big event will then hit the spectacular Powis estate trails at 11am with last year’s times to beat being Clive Morgan (40m:48s) for the men and Rebecca Mosley (45m:58s) for the ladies.

On the sidelines there will be catering, bouncy castle, ice cream, donuts, balloon modelling, face painting and children's football area to ensure it is a memorable morning for the whole family.
