Today’s advice from Great Fitness is short and sharp but the message is very clear: Stop comparing yourself to others when it comes to your body and where you want to get to!

“Everybody is completely different, and genetics can play a big part in how hard you may have to work to get the body shape you want,” said personal trainer, Charlie Proctor.

“Some people are fortunate to have a high metabolism and some people have to work at it to make their body burn fat more efficiently.

“It’s not worth comparing yourself to somebody off the television for example, where they probably have the time to train every single day and have their meals prepared for them.

“It’s very important to know that everyone is their own person, and having this in your head will only help you focus on your goals and targets, which are specific to you.

“Everyone has to start somewhere.”
